Star Jones Reynolds - Self Help Author or Control Freak?

Star Jones Reynolds, the attorney turned media personality drops the ball.

Star Jones Reynolds is the female attorney who started is co-host of The View, has written a book titled "Shine, a physical, emotional and spiritual journey to finding love." She lost 150 pounds in one year and fell in love and got married. Normally that would sound like a love story to share. She has decided to share this love story through a book contract with Harper Collins for $24.95.

Her publicist has booked her on several radio shows, including Atlanta's Star 94 morning show with Steve & Vickki. She was scheduled to be on Wednesday's show but rescheduled for Thursday. As a regular listener to Star 94 as well as a self-help coach, I looked forward to her interview. I always thought Star Jones and now since she got married, Star Jones Reynolds had her head screwed on straight.

Steve announced that Star Jones Reynolds publicist placed many restrictions on what he was allowed to ask listeners, but never placed restrictions on what callers can ask. A lady called in before the interview, she stated clearly that Star Jones Reynolds had her bypass surgery here in Atlanta. She had inside information and wanted to share it with the listeners. She was not trying to hurt Star or carry rumors, the caller just wanted to plug the staff at this particular hospital.

So during the interview, Steve asked Star if this caller's information was true, did she have the surgery here in Atlanta. Star immediately got upset, lost her cool, started talking more and more like an attorney and promptly hung up.

As a speakers, former radio host myself, this was a very poor response from a so called professional. In my opinion, if she has her heart in helping others lose weight and find happiness, she should have handled that question in a much more professional manner.

In my opinion, Star Jones Reynolds has allowed her success on The View to bloat her ego to a point that she can no longer help or relate to the general public. If I was the producer of The View and heard the way she talked to Steve and Vikki on Star 94, it would be her last day as co-host on The View. Personally, I will never watch anything hosted by Star Jones Reynolds again with the same interest or sincerity level.

Until next time, don't spend $24.95 learning about happiness from a author who can't relate to society.
